SERGEI ISAKOV


Professor of the University of Tartu Sergei Isakov (1931–2013) has dedicated his life to the study of contacts of Estonian culture with other nations’ culture, and, in particular, to the study of the Estonian-Russian literary and cultural relations, and cultural life of the Russian community in Estonia. He is an author of more than 500 papers (see “Bibliography”), including the books: “Through the Years and the Space: From the History of Estonian Cultural Relations with Ukraine, Georgia and Latvia in the 19th – early 20th century” (1969), “Russian Writers and Estonia” (1978), “Russians in Estonia, 1918–1940” (1996), “Essays on the History of Russian Culture in Estonia” (2005), “The Culture of Russian Emigration in Estonia, 1918–1940” (2011), etc.
